The Only Hope 1x1

Anya got her gloves out of her bag and slipped them on to her hands. It was a good idea to hide it at the moment.

Dante looked around the pub, trying to pin any familiar faces. He moved towards the counter.

Sakura looked around and recognized a guy that used to go to the orphanage. He had been one of the guys who`d put her casket in the ground.

Dante saw him as well. "He's one." He whispered to Anya.

"He joined?" She asked surprised by this. "How many orphaned children joined?" She whispered.

Dante shrugged. "Quite a few. Not exactly sure."

Anya nodded. "Alright, let`s go talk to `em then."

Dante nodded and approached the guy. His name was Richard. He was a little taller than Dante, had dark blonde hair, and had blue eyes. Dante tapped Richard on the sgoulder. Richard turned around smiling, his face turning to a look of shock for a moment. "U-Uh... What's up?" He asked. Dante nodded. "Good to see you made it out. You might remember Anya?" He said, stepping aside to reveal her.

Anya looked at him and smiled. "Hey Richard," she greeted knowing that anyone that met her now would look at her like she`s a demon."

Richard's eye's widened and he looked like he was about to have a panic attack. Dante shook his head. "Don't freak out, don't freak out." He said, Richard breathing heavily.

"I'll explain you just have to calm down." Anya said putting her hands up trying to calm him down. "Just calm down Richard."

Richard nodded, taking deep breaths. "Y-Yep, I'm calm." He said, not convincingly.

"I'm not dead, well obviously, I'm not dead but anyway. It sounds weird but I came back to life by myself. I needed to come back to help fix all of this." Anya said having trouble explaining this without explaining her powers.

Richard nodded. "Okay, sure.. So, are you a ghost?" He asked, still looking panicked.

"No, I'm very real." Anya said awkwardly.

Richard shook his head. "I don't understand... I was at the funeral."

"It's hard to explain, and when I say hard to explain it really is." Anya said unsure of how to explain all this.

Richard nodded. "I believe you.. Come with me, we shouldn't talk here." He said, his voice low, moving towards the back of the bar, where a door lead to a small room.

Anya followed him and walked into the room making sure Dante was still with them.

Dante walked in after her.

Richard turned to face them once they were in the room. "Okay.. so what happened?" He asked.

Anya looked at Dante not sure how much she should actually say.

Dante looked from her to Richard. "The building exploded."

Richard sighed. "I meant the part about her dying."

Dante nodded. "Gotcha. Well... We're not very sure either."

"It's kinda like being reborn without actually being born." Anya attempted to explain. "If you go back to where my grave was I'm still down there under all the water."

Richard blinked. "Water?" He asked, confused. "Why is there water?"

Anya sighed knowing Dante wouldn`t be happy about her saying the whole truth bbut it needed to be done. She was getting sick of trying to explain something difficult on it`s own. "After I died I learned how to control water in the spirit world to come back to life. My grave exploded due to the pressure of actually getting me here and the hole turned into a lake." Anya explained truthfully.
